We are thrilled to display a series of artworks, created by 2nd Grade students of Smith school, instructed by Mr. Castellano, who is the art teacher in Smith school.
From Mr. Castellano: The Smith School Second Grade has recently explored the rich history of Ancient Chinese porcelain, focusing on the vibrant blue and white designs often seen on traditional pieces. The students learned about Chinese symbols and motifs like dragons, lotus flowers, and clouds, which were commonly featured in porcelain artwork. Students applied these ideas to create their own artwork as a collage, using watercolor paints or markers. Symmetry was used in the folding and cutting of the vase. This project captures the beauty and creativity of our young artists! We are very proud of their contributions.
